The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center (NCECDMC) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) discussed improving emergency and crisis management strategies in Libya.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center (NCECDMC) held an expanded meeting with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) at its main offices in Geneva and its regional offices in Cairo, with the participation of a representative of the Libyan mission in Geneva.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Environment, the Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, the National Safety Authority, the National Center for Meteorology, and the General Electricity Company.

This meeting is part of the center’s efforts to coordinate among state institutions to formulate a unified disaster reduction policy. It is also an important step in strengthening cooperation between Libyan state institutions and international organizations to improve emergency and crisis management strategies.
