The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center (NCECDMC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) discussed cooperation to enhance emergency preparedness and response capacities.

The Center held a preparatory meeting with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya. The Center was represented by the Director of the International Cooperation Office, Dr. Kamel Al-Azabi, and attended by a number of staff members. A comprehensive presentation was given about the Center and its international and regional partnerships.

On behalf of UNDP, the Deputy Resident Representative, Mr. Mohammed Saleh, the Head of the Experimental Section at the Accelerator Lab, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Basir, and the Head of the Local Peacebuilding and Recovery Pillar, Mr. Osama Al-Matari, were also present.

The two sides agreed to continue communication and coordination to enhance cooperation in a manner that serves the Center’s objectives and to transfer knowledge to enhance emergency preparedness and response capacities.

This meeting comes within the framework of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation with relevant institutions and organizations to benefit from their expertise and work in crisis and disaster management.
