The National Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Participates in the Regional Workshop on Seismic Building Code in Morocco
The National Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management participated in the regional workshop on seismic building code, organized by the UNESCO Multidisciplinary Regional Office for the Maghreb Countries, on February 26 and 27, 2025, in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
The center was represented at the workshop, which was held in collaboration with the National Institute of Geophysics of the Kingdom of Morocco, by Ms. Manal Hanouchi, Director of the Information and Monitoring Department at the center.
According to the organizers, the workshop aims to strengthen national earthquake monitoring systems and enhance national knowledge and capacities in this field for countries in the region.
The workshop also featured a presentation of the results of a UNESCO project in Morocco, which focuses on the country’s resilience to earthquakes as a model that can be used regionally.
