The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center and the European Expert Team Confirm the Absence of Toxic Gases, Chemicals, or Radioactivity in the Areas Affected by the Fires in Al-Asabaa
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center held a joint meeting with the European team, attended by the Center’s Director General, the Mayor and members of Al-Asabaa Municipality, and representatives of the European Union Delegation to Libya.
The results of the initial field survey concluded that there were no toxic gases, chemicals, or radiation in the areas affected by the fires, indicating that the environmental situation is under control and does not pose a threat to citizens’ health.
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center confirmed that technical investigations are still ongoing, noting that the final results will be announced once the European team completes the accurate laboratory analyses of samples collected from the fire sites.
